Windermere and JLS Don’t Show Others Open House Times

As you know I find it frustrating that so few Seattle agents put their open house times in the NWMLS.

Thanks to Ardell for pointing out to me that neither Windermere or John L Scott show the open house information from the MLS; they only show their own times. This seems very un-MLSy to me.

    Matt,

Apparently the agents can’t even see the field to enter a Public Open House. The field is omitted from the view of those agents, leaving them no option.

I did see an Open House posted for JLS in Mulkiteo, so some offices have apparently not blocked the Public Open field.

The issue is not so much that they don’t show our Open Houses on their site anymore, they also don’t let theirs show on your site.

This is a late comment, but I couldn’t agree more. I think most brokers in the NWMLS are doing a huge disservice to their sellers by not advertising Open Houses freely. We always put our open houses in the MLS and appreciate that it appears on Redfin since it drives customers to our open houses. Who cares if another broker’s clients come to your listing? Wouldn’t you like to get it sold??

What is really needed is an MLS rule that states that all open houses are put in the MLS and all brokers must display them. This would be hugely beneficial to buyers and sellers, and would be highly unpopular with territorial brokers.
