How did I end up at Redfin?

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

I should first write a post about ‘How did I end up interviewing at Zillow’ since it is what spurred me into interviewing at Redfin. Anyhow, for those interested here is my Redfin time line and of course it may not be representative of your experience if you interview with us :).

June 14, 2006: I cold email Glenn with the subject ‘Opportunities at Redfin’:

Hi Glenn,

Don’t know if you remember or not but you left a comment on my blog a while back (http://blog.mattgoyer.com/archives/2006/04/12/65).

Anyhow, I’ve been following Redfin since late last summer and I’ve become increasingly interested in Seattle real estate (first buying a condo then starting to blog about new construction at http://www.urbnlivn.com). I’ve also been looking around for new job opportunities, preferably at a
Seattle startup and understandably Redfin is at the top of my list.

If you have the time and opportunities are available, I’d love to chat more about whether there would be a fit between Redfin and my skill/interest set.

Thanks!

Matt
